I have stopped my son from playing football in the garden as it was leaving terrible patches, now after laying seed and it has grown a little it still is quite patchy, the grass is different colours too, will this all blend at some stage ? or am I going to always have a patchy lawn ?

It will eventually grow into one beautiful lawn after some time. Keep your patience .

have you tried spreading the same seed over the areas with grass already? this will help speed up the blending process

Overseeding the whole area is a good idea with a similar seed blend, also some varities take a little time to fill in.

Thank you and Happy Gardening! ~ Sarah
